About Me

Thalia Clay-McSherry

BSc (Hons) MNIMH

From a young age I have always been fascinated and drawn to the natural world. It was, however, my own health journey with a chronic condition that led me to studying herbal medicine. We face unprecedented epidemics of cancer and auto-immune diseases, with so many suffering from anxiety and depression. I believe we each have unique talents for taking care of and healing the earth and ourselves. For most of us, this task should flow through daily habits, through our personal, community and professional life. Sometimes the most potent healing gifts are the simplest of all; fresh air, pure water, nourishing foods, a sense of purpose, and love.

I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Herbal Medicine at the University of Lincoln. During my four years of training, I became proficient in pathophysiology, biochemistry, phytotherapy and nutrition. As well as medical examination, pharmacy, differential diagnosis and clinical and diagnostic skills. All of which were applied during 500 + hours of clinical practice with patients at the University’s Herbal Medicine Clinic. On graduating I received the award for Most Innovative Student Practitioner.

After training in Lincoln, I joined the prestigious Hydes Herbal Clinic in Leicester, where I gained a vast amount of experience treating patients with varying health conditions. I left Hydes to embody a better family-work life balance, which I believe is important for health and well-being. I am currently working as a Health and Well-being Coach for people with long term conditions for the NHS, alongside my own practice.

I am a member of both The National Institute of Medical Herbalists and The College of Phytotherapy Practitioners. I am consistently keeping up to date with relevant research within the field of herbal medicine and natural health care, as well as advancements in pharmaceutical research. I attend and sometimes speak at, regular professional body conferences and workshops.

I have a special interest in women’s health, children’s health and nervous system dysregulation such as anxiety, depression, OCD and panic disorder.
